Gi Cleanliness

Just a quick note on the care of your training Gis.

The Gi should be washed at least once a week.

Make sure to use cold water and do not use bleach.  Though the Gis are white, bleach will ruin the patch.

Do NOT dry your Gi in a machine.  Hang dry it.  If you use a dryer, it may shrink up to two sizes.  A Gi takes about 24 hours to dry, keep this in mind when you wash.  You do not want a wet Gi in class.

Do not wash your belt.  Tradition states that it holds your knowledge and washing it washes away the knowledge.  Honestly, your belts will not get dirty enough to need to wash them if you take care of your Gi.

If you have any questions, please ask.
